Day 5

Day 5 takes us into our third week of jogging. The sun was shining while there was not a cloud in the sky—definitely the hottest day of jogging so far. To see if the tide would be out (which is beneficial to our jog), we agreed to turn up later in the day—in this case, we arrived at about 2:15pm. This is well over two hours later than our previous jogs have been. It may have been the hot weather but there were more people around today; not something we have a problem with, but most importantly of all was the fact that the tide was still considerably in! As mentioned, the sun was out in full force. This resulted in one or two sunburnt thumbs (me!) while one of us remembered to bring a cap to keep cool (well done AK!)

One bottle of water was not enough, it seems. While my rations were a bottle of Evian during the jog, AK enjoyed three bottled drinks, one of which was Ribena. Good forward thinking there! I was keeping the pace going today. AK and Chris kept going too. AK and myself ate an apple each to give us some energy. At the end of the jog it didn't feel like the end, so to speak, I could have continued a bit longer...

Notes: Hottest weather so far. It is also worth noting that the jogs seem to take exactly the same amount of time. The next few could be timed to see if this is true. Also, we listened to Moby's "Play" album en route to the jog!

Weather Conditions: Hot, sunny, no cloud, little breeze

Roseberry Topping 22/6/05:

Yesterday a handful of us climbed Roseberry Topping. This took approximately 30 minutes to do. It was rather steep, with forest and rocky ground to ascend. We jogged some of the way down.

Did not enjoy jogging as much today was really sleepy with little energy. The weather did not help and I felt really weak afterwards. Were as Rich aka Mr ultra fit kept going like the Duracell Bunny. I did feel good for doing the jogging afterwards. Next time should be good hope its not as hot! Tide in my opinion seemed to be out more but the sand was really odd and harder to run on. This may be to do with the sun drying the wet sand more but (hay I am no scientist. Looking forward to next one hope there are more ladies on the beach. I beat him in a race again! But then I was so worn out which makes me unfit were as both Rich and Ali have a higher fitness level (this is open to debatable of course). I was overall impressed with Rich today who has shown much improvement well done! Of course Ali was fun to be with as always and did well. I will do better next time. We could have gone to tennis but it was too hot. A side story we went to Roseburry toping it was great walked up the hill me and Huw went up the side it was scary if you feel you could break a bone oh well! It was much fun. It was very hot weather great view. Went to a pub for a drink it was a hotel but was closed how ridiculous. Went to another pub listened to music on jukebox can’t remember the name of the pub. Mark was being annoying he kept the sound on when playing a game of tetras on his phone. But overall a good fun day for all. Like the review from Rich as always. Very detailed keep it going jog blog is a great idea well done!

Hey AK and Chris thanks for the excellent comments documenting our progress so far. Lol something I hadn't mentioned were these "races" you two do at least once every day, but I'm under too much strain to notice them at the time lol..

And Chris, the pub we visited was The Tileshed, pretty much in Great Ayton. Water was precious that day my friends! And yeah, that mobile phone game noise was definitely annoying some of us :)
